Hayden Panettiere, an actress known for her roles in popular TV series "Heroes" and "Nashville," died on Sunday at the age of 36.
According to news outlet TMZ, Panettiere was found dead by a friend inside a South Carolina home. Emergency Medical Service workers responded to a call regarding an unresponsive female in cardiac arrest.
"It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden," her father, Skip Panettiere, said in a statement to ABC News.
"She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her and to the millions who watched her onscreen."
According to a report on ABC News, her father asked for privacy "as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss."
TMZ reported that further details surrounding Hayden's death were not immediately available.
Born in 1989, Panettiere became a child star and went on to have numerous roles in both film and TV.
Panettiere also appeared in the beloved "Scream" franchise, including "Scream 4" and "Scream VI," "Ice Princess" and lent her voice to the video game "Until Dawn."
She got an early career boost as a child actress with her role as Sheryl Yoast in the 2000 sports drama "Remember the Titans," where she appeared alongside Denzel Washington and helped establish herself as a young Hollywood talent.
She wrote a memoir titled "This Is Me: A Reckoning" which was released in May.
In the memoir she opened up about postpartum depression, addiction and recovery, trauma, domestic abuse, and loss. She had also spoken of estrangement from her mother, who managed her career as a child.
She is the mother to one child, her daughter Kaya Klitschko, whom she had in 2014 with her ex-fiancé, heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
