Globally-renowned Cape Town queer nightlife project THE DEATH OF GLITTER (D.O.G) presents "THE END", a celebration in memory of a party girl.
D.O.G. will gather at Botanik Social House on 31 October, for the closing ritual of its first decade. A funeral for Glitter that treats the end not as an ending, but as the necessary condition for whatever comes next.
Across the night, a deliberately unruly lineup moves between club music, live performance, punk, experimental sound and performance art. The night will mark the first live performance in South Africa from Hunter As A Horse, the project of musician and vocalist Mia van Wyk.
Working across alternative, darkwave electronica and dream-pop, with incursions into nu-goth and alternative dance, Hunter As A Horse makes darkly cinematic music shaped by instinct, symbolism and transformation.
Following her signing to Metropolis Records and the release of Paradise Lost earlier this year, van Wyk brings the project home for its first South African live appearance. It's a fitting debut during a night preoccupied with death, metamorphosis and what comes after.

The DJ lineup for "THE END" reflects the new generation of Cape Town's dance music underground. Deylin Universe plays an extended three hour set of pulsating, sub-heavy soundscapes shaped by his experience of queer techno culture.
He is joined by DAMAGE, founder of CHAOS!, on a floor dedicated to the two firestarters. Expect fast, percussion-heavy mutations of dubstep, footwork, gqom and hard drum.
Mother of the house DRAGMOTHER will present a high-octane set that features a few surprises. She appears alongside Cape Town DJ and radio host LightBeams and D.O.G daughter AYLI.
LightBeams is known for instinctive, genre-fluid selections, while AYLI will close the night with her signature blend of hard groove, Latin club and guttural electronics.
DIY electronic and alternative artist buh and politically charged punk trio Cistamatic push the programme beyond the conventions of the club, while ambient artists PURE × Denise Onen offer a reprieve from the chaos. Operating from their own dedicated space through the night, the duo add an experimental sonic dimension to "THE END".
Performance art duo KRAS can be found in a corner exploring identity, ritual, transformation and the body, while D.O.G superstar and drag icon Ina Propriette will serve high-fashion fantasy hooker-rockstar drama on the main stage as only she knows how.
For "THE END", Botanik Social House will be transformed into a series of spaces that becomes a portal between the Here, and the Then — the threshold between the world outside and whatever waits beyond it.
After ten years of party, art, sex, D.O.G. is not interested in embalming its past. It's ready to rot into the future. "THE END" is a celebration of the inevitable, in which the end itself becomes your new beginning.
"THE END" takes place on 31 October 2026 at Botanik Social House, Cape Town.
Phase II tickets are R250 via Quicket, with Phase III tickets at R300 and limited door tickets available for R350.100 community tickets will also be made available at no cost, prioritising members of the communities D.O.G. has always existed to serve.
