If there is one thing Hollywood knows how to do, it is turn a museum opening into an absolute runway. To celebrate the grand opening of George Lucas and Mellody Hobson’s long-awaited Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, the star-studded guest list pulled out all the stops.
From rare archival vintage to fresh-off-the-runway couture, the stars turned LA’s biggest cultural moment into an unforgettable masterclass in high fashion.
The highly anticipated event, which has been 20 years in the making, was founded by filmmaker George Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson.
Lewis Hamilton, Greta Gerwig, Pharrell Williams, Queen Latifah, Julie Bell, Steven Spielberg, Guillermo del Toro and more served as co-chairs for the evening.
While the opening marked a major cultural moment for Los Angeles, it was the star-studded red carpet that had social media buzzing.
Among the famous faces in attendance were Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Tracee Ellis Ross.

Kim Kardashian goes archival: When it comes to archival fashion, few celebrities have made it quite as much of a signature as Kim Kardashian.
The Skims founder once again proved her fashion credentials in a vintage Yves Saint Laurent gown from the label’s Fall/Winter 2004 collection.
The fully sequined silk cheongsam-style gown featured a dramatic keyhole neckline and intricate Chinese-inspired motifs, including fish, waves and floral detailing.

Doja Cat brings the colour: The “Agora Hills” singer made sure the red carpet was anything but predictable in a vibrant pink Nue Daphne gown.
The look featured a halter neckline, elegant draping and an open back, while sparkling crystal embellishments added an extra dose of glamour.
She accessorised with clear platform heels, a diamond choker and matching diamond earrings, allowing the pink gown to take centre stage.
Kris Jenner goes classic Chanel: The reality TV star opted for head-to-toe Chanel, wearing a navy blue Resort 2023 design covered in shimmering sequins.
The statement coat was styled over a matching blue silk slip dress, with pointed-toe heels completing the polished look.
Janelle Monáe turns up the drama:
Janelle Monáe brought her signature theatrical edge to the occasion in a sheer black Antonio Grimaldi gown from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2026 Haute Couture collection.
The dramatic dress was covered in intricate rows of dark beading and pearls, creating a dazzling effect against the sheer fabric.
She completed the look with a statement pearl choker and black heels.
Camila Cabello shines in vintage Donna Karan: The “Havana” singer opted for vintage glamour in a shimmering metallic gold crochet dress by Donna Karan.
She kept the accessories in the same glamorous lane, adding a matching gold statement necklace and diamond ring.
Kerry Washington makes a case for unexpected colour combinations: Washington stepped out in a playful combination of pink and grey, wearing a pink sequin corset top from Wiederhoeft featuring a bedazzled satin rose appliqué.
